2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS review from North America

My Driver's side power window button also recently went out and had too be replaced, but at over 290,000 so should be expected at that many miles. Cost was around $300.00.

My alternator went out at around 200,000 miles which should be no shocker with those miles.

I had to replace the Stereo which is a CD/Cassette at about 150,000 miles due to the CD refusing to eject, but have always attributed that to the rough treatment it received from my daughter. Cost was a lil over $300.00 from GM.

I bought my 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS new in Oct. of 1999. This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Other than normal routine maintenance I have had no problems with this car whatsoever other than what should be expected with high mileage. Looks great, drives great, great gas mileage, and now with over 300,000 miles it still runs as good and has as much power as it did when I bought it with only 1 mile. I would still travel anywhere without any worry in it. Very reliable from day one.

I travel a lot as is obvious with the mileage and now still the only problem I am experiencing is the Dimmer Switch went out and has to be replaced which was quoted by dealer for around $500.00.

All & all I love my 2000 Monte Carlo SS. It has been very reliable. With minor problems that were expected no shocker. I previously owned a 1995 Monte carlo and got over 280,000 miles on it with no problems. Sold it when I purchased my new one. My cars are also very well maintained by my husband which is obviously helpful in the use I get out of them. Only problem I ever had with this car was also the Goodyear Tires that were on them when I bought it. Switch to another tire made by Goodyear just a different name. No problems. The 3800 engine is one of the best GM sends out from my experience.

I plan on buying a 2006 Monte Carlo SS sometime this spring. I hope I can get as much service out of it as I have the previous two I've owned.
