Just an alternator really.
Choke is bad on the carburettor - but that's cheap.
Could use a little work on the front suspension - but that's what happens when you drive on hellish PA potholes, oh I mean roads...
This is a GREAT car - very reliable - always starts right up - EXTREMELY FAST (though doing this can cost some serious amounts of money in gas).
Interior is very comfortable.
The only negative comment I have is that the handling isn't great - but that's to be expected from a big car...
I have 2 big cars and a truck that handle comparably to a Corvette. Guess what, their all Fords!
'87 Cougar LS - no chassis mods. No body roll at all, never got it to slip around a turn.
'79 T-bird - extensive chassis mods. No body roll at all. Alittle slipage at high speeds on sharp turns.
'97 F150 XLT 2WD Man transmission - bone stock. Alittle body roll but not much. Going to put in a rear sway bar to eliminate the accelleration hop and add more rigidity to the suspension.
Go to your Ford dealer and try some of their GOOD cars (not the festiva's) for a change. You all will eventually see what I mean.
I have a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Sport Coupe with the 4.3L Fuel Injected V6 and 230,000mi on the clock with no rebuilds or replacements. Not only do you build up Ford in your comment, but you contradict yourself by calling Ford good. Excuse me, a "Ford" product just blew up in my neighbors yard. Ta Ta!
Yeah I would like to say also that my friends late 80's early 90's thunderbird blew the motor almost colpletely out of the hood going down the highway. I own a ford, and it drinks money. there is only one ford that my friends 85 monte ss will not beat and that is a 13 sec mustang. other than that montes are solid cars, and if something goes wrong remember... live and learn. Then get a BIGGER ENGINE!
