2001 Chevrolet S-10 4 Door 4x4 review from North America
"A sold little truck that could use a V-8"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only problems I have had are with the window seal. It would not seal all of the way, allowing an air leak. This was fixed promptly by the dealer. It first started leaking at about 500 miles.
The only other down side so far is that the stock Good Year tires wore out quick. They only lasted to about 15,000 miles. They were rotated every 5000 miles.
General comments?
I have used and abused this truck for all of it's life. I have sunk it to the middle of the door in water. It never stopped running. I drove it off of a cliff of about 5 to 10 feet. It landed on it's front bumper, I thought the only damage was a bent bumper. But, at my next oil chance I noticed that the frame was bent! That is to be expected when you drive a truck off a cliff at 20 miles per hour. But the cool thing is that it ran just fine with the engine 2 inches back from the factory location. The only issue was that the header rubbed on the fire will a little bit. I have used it to pull out a 1-ton welding truck with out a problem. I have also towed a 25 foot dual axle trailer fully loaded with firewood at a 60 miles per hour.
