"Junk"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Power steering pump seal blew out at 2200 miles.

Drive line has a shudder when taking off from stop. Started at 800 miles.

Transmission will not always fully engage when letting off gas and accelerating again. Started at 6000 miles.

General comments?

Manufacturer claims complaints are all

within normal operating parameters.

My 2002 S-10 V6 with Automatic also has some transmission slip after letting of on the gas and then accelerating again. Has done it from brand new. Dealer wasn't able to find anything. Comes and goes always keeps me guessing.

My 2003 s-10 zr2 has the same problem with slowing then accelerating. It has a kind of "clunk" that it makes Its been happening since I bought it, but the dealer says they can't reproduce my complaint. They will not drive with me in the truck so that I can show them. The truck has about 2 dozen other things wrong with it as well.

I would not buy another GM vehicle after this poor performance in both quality and customer service.

I own a 2002 Chevy s10 extreme. I love this truck. It has the performance, style, and the towing ability that I need. I have had no problems with this truck. Usually with the transmission. Chevy trucks are known for that slip. I used to own a 1996 ford ranger. I had more problems with that truck than I did with my 1973 VW beetle. Don't know why people the truck isn't good. It does what I need it to do. To this day I have not been disappointed once.

My 2002 blazer zr2 with 34K has the same problem with the slipping and vibration. It also wonders on the highway which scares other drivers. Looks like I'm drunk! They say its normal with the off road suspension. I say they don't want to fix it. Going back next week to have it looked at. wish me luck...

I own a 2002 xtreme standard cab. It's a simple 2.2 5 speed, and I've never had any problems since purchased.

Gets great gas mileage and drives smooth, and with very little ext. work you can have a very aggressive stance.

I'm satisfied with the truck as stock and can't wait to start seeing what the many upgrades available for the truck will add.

All these problems within the first two oil changes huh? well either you are just full of it and hate chevy's or you are one unlucky dude.. either way, its WELL within the warranty period, so get it fixed, and watch it last 200,000 miles just like most s-10's do.

I own a 02 Xtreme ext. cab with 3rd door... I pain cash for the truck in IMMACULATE cond. It has 14,000 miles on it and the Vortec V6 never fails to dissapoint me... I put leather seats in it from a tahoe, K/N intake, Performance chip, Magnaflow FULL exaust system. I was pleased with the rims, so I just slapped some Fusion ZR1 rubbers on it. I have never had it on a dyno, but I'm smokin 5.0 Stangs, Camaro's...I usually throw a little weight in the back to smooth the ride and it helps with the "off the line punch also"

Great truck...!!!
