1997 Chevrolet S-10 LX review from North America
"Lots of problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 35,000 miles I had to replace the vaccuum booster and master cylinder.
Right around then the AC system crashed, one of the pressure hoses is wrapped aroudn a metal bracket causing it to wear through and leak, which caused the compressor to freeze up, the whole thing had to be replaced within the next year.
The alternator went at 45000 and 65000.
I have had to replace the clutch twice and have the trani rebuilt.
The three coil packs that are on these trucks have had to be replaced at 70000.
The radiator fan and bracket were replaced at about 55000.
Water pump was replaced at 50000.
The engine just got re-ringed as well.
General comments?
This truck has been nothing but problems, I am tired of having it. I have never driven it hard or abused it, I have been trying to contact Chevy about it since like 40000 but they don't return calls or emails.
