1999 Chevrolet S-10 LS review from North America
"Disappointing dependability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bucket seat adjustment knob has broken twice. Front tires have worn out prematurely. The transmission overheated and blew transmission lines and the front seal on transmission.
Now, it's leaking antifreeze and the new serpentine belt I just had installed squeals when the engine is cool. I think the water pump is going out? I hear a bubbling sound from behind the dash upon aggressive acceleration. Maybe a heat core leak also?
General comments?
I commute 40 miles to work daily. The truck has just topped 100,000 miles. I had an 1982 GMC S-15 for 8 years and traded it in with 160,000 miles and never had this much trouble with that truck, and I thought it was general knowledge that the vehicles of the early 80's poorly made? I will try an import with my next truck purchase.
