1985 Chevrolet S-10 review from North America
"Great truck, I would buy one again in a heartbeat!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This truck was purchased new by my father. He gave it to me with 132,000 miles on it.
During this time, outside of a fuel pump, speedometer and clutch and a couple emissions components (all went out when this truck had 150,000 or more miles on it) it just had normal things wear out at normal intervals (starter, alternator, tires, brakes, etc.)
The odometer did stick for a few thousand miles, then suddenly start working again. Since the trip odometer had broken at this time, I have no idea the exact number of miles it was broken for, I would guess around 4000 miles were not accounted for.
This truck may not have been fancy, may have ridden rough and had pedals that were hard to push, but it was the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned (even with 150,000 and more miles on it).
