1992 Chevrolet S-10 review from North America
"The vehicle has served me well except for the oil leak and loss of the engine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The oil filter adapter started leaking and before I realized it the engine was knocking. I had to replace the engine. The same thing happened to my son's Chev. Blazer with the 4.3 engine. The shop we took it to had two other trucks with the same problem. They said they see this at least weekly with the trucks that have the 4.3 engine and the remote oil filter adapters. This is just one small shop in an average size town. It must be happening to tens of thousands of these G.M. vehicles, and G.M. should be made to correct the problem and reimburse people for the expense they have suffered because of a bad design that they continued to use year after year. I would be willing to pursue a class action suit if others would join in.

General comments?
In talks with a local G.M. dealer this problem with the oil filter adapter system on 4.3 engines is well know to General Motors. They need to do the right thing and come up with a modification or fix before someone gets killed because of it. Oil leaking from a ruptured line could spray onto the exhaust system in a number of places and cause a fire or the oil could spray onto the left front tire and cause loss of control.
