"Great truck if you want to spend 3 grand a year to keep it rolling"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Air Conditioner Replaced 3 Times.

Transmission Blew at 220,000 miles.

Overdrive no longer works on new transmission at 249,000 miles.

Engine threw rod going 80mph on the freeway at 220,200 miles.

Fan Clutch went out at 247,500 miles.

Steering column broke so the steering wheel was very lose and was hard to hold.

Master Cylinder fell off and had to use the emergency brake.

Column shifter fell off so had to use screwdriver to shift gears.

Front suspension broke when merging on the highway and about flipped the truck.

The whole exhaust system broke and fell off in the road when turning. Got warning from cop because it almost caused an accident.

None of the gauges work anymore.

Fuel injectors failed 2 times.

Radiator failed and water would boil out.

General comments?

This truck runs good now after I poured more than 3 grand into the truck. I am on my second 2.8L motor because the original one topped out at 80mph and blew the rod and cracked the crankshaft. The original transmission blew the 4th gear and also would not shift automatically so I had to manually move the shifter from 1,2,d, then od. The new tranny after 30,000 skips 3rd gear and the overdrive makes grinding noises if driving under 40mph. The truck also has a problem, if you take you foot off the gas, it will stall, even if you are going 40mph or more, so if you want to slow down you have to hold the brake and the gas. The suspension broke in 3 pieces when I went over an overpass (where the road and overpass meet) and almost wrecked out. The dashboard is also a mess, the panel infront of the radio broke so I got duck tape holding that on, and the glove compartment broke on the latch and hindges so I put duck tape where the hindges were and a latch from home depot to hold the top.

I'm conclusion the truck gets me from point A to point B, but the quality is definitly not there as in any gm vehicle except the fleetwood cadillacs which they don't make anymore (go figure GM don't like making rwd sedans anymore. My next truck will be a Nissan Titan V8. It only gets 2mpg less than the s-10. My s-10 cost me $20 a day to drive, so that means I spend $100 a week in gas which is $400 a month. That is not good at all for a v6, so I might as well get a fast v8 and get the same mileage. So long GM nice knowing you.

Well, you might expect a few faults with this age and mileage.

Yeah, it's ludicrous not to expect to replace stock parts on a high mileage vehicle.

Seriously. I had to replace factory parts on my Chevy too, but I wasn't mad. It's over 20 years old! Buy a Dodge and replace those same parts before it's even 100,000 miles old. Then you'll go crawling back to your Chevy that probably still runs.
