1999 Chevrolet S-10 LE review from North America
"Good truck to own if you have plenty of money for gas and repairs"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 10000 miles the service engine light came on for no apparent reason. I took it to the draler where I bought the truck and they could find nothing wrong. Their solution was to disconnect battery cable overnight so that it would reset. At 16000 miles the alternator went out. At 34520 the water pump went out, at 41,000 the alternator went out again along with the drivers side recline handle breaking. At 40000 the door hinge on the drivers side broke. At 51000 the water pump went out again. At 54000 the drive shaft flew apart no warning such as bad u-joint noise etc.. At 74000 the alternator went out for a third time. At 104000 the intake manifold gasket blew. The mileage has been terrible 11-12 MPG. Expensive vehicle to own, but on the flip side extremely comfortable to drive very good handling truck.
General comments?
The truck is very expensive to drive, terrible mileage.
The truck rides and handles like a dream.
