1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 review from North America
"Will definitely buy a Silverado again"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This has been one extremely reliable truck. Pulled a 30 foot holiday trailer all through the mountains in BC for 6 summers. Transmission finally went at 177,000 km.
Other than the transmission, I've not replaced any other major part on this truck.
General comments?
Daily driver and starts in the cold Alberta winters no problem.
New front brakes when I bought it at 93,000 km were just replaced at 230,000 km.
This has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned (have had about 16 different vehicles, domestic and import), and I just don't have the heart to let it go even though it is 15 years old. Now pulling a 27 foot 5th wheel at 232,000 km, and the truck is still going strong.
Interior has held up well, and after detailing looks almost new. One key in the longevity of this truck is regular maintenance, and oil and other fluid changes.
I also owned a 1989 F150 for about one year that spent more time getting fixed than on the road, was glad to get rid of it.
