2000 Chevrolet Silverado LS review from North America
"A pleasant drive as far as trucks go"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
First problem was a fuel pump at 27,000 miles. It was the only repair covered by warranty.
Second problem was a fuel pump at 66,000 miles.
Third problem was a fuel regulator at 68,000 miles.
The "Service 4WD" problem light has been on/off since 35,000 miles. I think it's the switch or the sensor, but I've always been able to use 4WD.
My 5.3 is sounding like a diesel during cold morning start ups. Will need to discuss with dealership. I read somewhere that oil isn't getting up to the rockers.
General comments?
For the most part, I've really like this truck. However, this is the 3rd GM/Chevy product I've bought new and all 3 vehicles required new fuel pumps and regulators. Is it my curse or can GM not make a reliable fuel pump?
