2004 Chevrolet Silverado HD LS review from North America
"Chevrolet has finally made the perfect diesel combination"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had no problems with my Chevrolet as of yet.
General comments?
I have a Duramax with the five speed Allison transmission. This is the best truck I have ever owned or have driven.
This is the quietest diesel I have had the pleasure to drive. I really have to watch my lead foot with this truck due to the quick response of the accelerator, it feels like a race car.
At the worst I get 16mpg, and at best I get on the highway about 18.5mpg. When I tow my 19' Arima, I only experience a.5 drop in my fuel economy per mile.
I am running this truck with p285 R16 tires, so fuel economy could be suffering, but I sincerely doubt it. It is not sluggish at all. I have yet to see this Chevy down shift on any hill while it is unloaded. This truck also brakes very nicely and has the special little feature of downshifting on steep hells when towing a large load.
I highly recommend this truck to anyone.
