1999 Chevrolet Silverado LS review from North America
"This is the best truck for the buck that I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My Fuel Gauge will go from full to empty then back to full, and stays on empty when I fill up which is caused bye vapors that have corded the sender in the tank. I have found a way to kind of get around this, If while you are moving down the road you click it into neutral then the gauge will show the correct level, not the desirable fix, but effective.
The transmission started to slip at 98000 miles, but hasn't got any worse. I figured it was because I had really worked this truck hard, I probably pull stuff with is that should be behind a tractor, but the truck has so much more power and shows no signs of stopping.
The right rear brake pads wears off quicker then it should (about 10000-20000 miles) which I discovered to be the slave cylinder malfunction which there is a Napa brand cylinder to replace that. Not to terribly expensive, but I haven't got around to it.
The Truck has also developed the sticking gas petal, but it has never been a major issue.
General comments?
The seats in the Truck are truly awesome, there are some couches I have set in that are not even as close to comfortable as these truck seats.
The power of this truck is unmatched and the feel of the drive is truly an experience that you shouldn't miss.
