Replaced the water pump at 78000 miles. My driver's side door (interior) handle just broke off at 83000.
Can anyone tell me how to replace my drivers side, interior, door handle. Dealer wants to charge $110. Plus the price of the part.
Both my door handles broke off within a week of each other. I went to my local NAPA store and got them $14 a piece.
It is fairly straight forward to change the inner door handle. I believe you have to buy the whole plate with the handle and lock (if your truck has power locks. You have to pull off the face plate. Then you have to disconnect the the lock switch. Then the new handle plate you purchased, One or two pop rivets hold the existing one on. Drill those out. Disconnect the door latch connecting rod from the end of the handle. Installation is the reverse of this sequence.
