2000 Chevrolet Silverado LS review from North America
"Good Truck, Comfortable, Cheap to Maintain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 95,000 Miles I had to replace the Front universals on the shaft. It was loose in 4wd and in two wheel drive it would shake, was only a $40 part.
The transfer case is loud and clicks when you drop it into gear. Truck shifts hard on some occassions, I don't think the tranny will get more than 150k out of it.
The fuel gauge never works when you fill the truck up until about 40miles down the road and the previous owner had trouble with it too.
Starting to rust, but it has never been garaged.
At 97,000 it seems the truck needs a good tune up.
General comments?
The truck has excellent power and hauling. In tow mode you have so much power, I hauled cars before passing sport cars uphill. It has a great dealof power and I averaged 15city/18highway mpg. I was very satisfied with the silverado and I would buy another one.
