1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 review from North America
"Superb!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Almost nothing! I love this truck. I drove two Camaros before buying my Silverado. I wanted a 2wd truck and found one with everything I was after. It had the 3rd door; full load; extremely comfortable and classy looking interior etc. The truck was previously owned by a larger man and the seats were in phenomenal condition (not saggy or mis-shapen). I am a lady who is 5' 5" tall and I love the fact that I can see from every angle when driving this truck. I absolutely love it and would recommend one to anyone on the market! The only problem I had within 2.5 years of owning this truck is the head gasket started to leak at 150,000 km. That was my only repair andn at $400, I cannot complain.
General comments?
It handles very well; it steers nicely; the guages are easy to see and read. All the controls and buttons are thoughtfully laid out.
