Hi can someone help me I have a 1987 chevy sprint turbo when I step on the gas hard it baugs down for a second the check engine light comes on and it makes a hissing noise it only dose this for a couple seconds then it will take off. what could be wrong please email me at.. my1987chevysprint@charter.net.

Your waste gate valve is not moving. The waste gate valve is part of your turbo unit. You will be able see the waste gate arm move when you give it gas. The cure is to free up the waste gate valve with sandpaper.
