"Great gas mileage"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I think the number 1cylinder is bad It burns about 1 qt of oil every 200mi and when I go to take off it really hesitates then it goes. now every time I come to a stop it stalls I can't figure it out.

General comments?

The best thing about this car is that it gets 5omim per gal.

IT is highly possible your torque converter is the problem. It may be a locked up stator, causing the poor take off and stalling at idle.

You might want to have someone that works on this type of car check the timing belt. I had a guy that works on these cars tell me that if the timing belt is one notch off that it can cause it to idle rough and also mess up your fuel economy. it is just something that don't hurt to have checked out. if that's the case then he recommended getting a genuine timing belt from the Chevy dealer. it might cost 3 to 5 dollars more than a belt from a part store, but they are better timing belts. p.s. good luck.
