I have 1999 1500 suburban I bought with 60000 miles on it now has 187,450 miles only had to replace my fuel pump twice. First time my fault cheaped out and bought auto-zone fuel pump which only lasted 4 months. Now I have a factory replacement fuel pump and no more problems. I could not be happier. Also gets 20 mpg highway all day long. Best purchase I've ever done.

I have a 1999 C1500 LS Suburban, the thing runs GREAT.

The major, reoccurring problem I have is the secondary AIR injection pump. It keeps tripping the check engine light. I bought a code reader so I didn't have to keep taking it to the dealer.

I have replaced the transmission, the front brakes what seems like 100 times, rear brakes, AC unit, radiator, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, window motor in the drivers door.

I am so deep into this thing I have practically rebuilt it. My 1994 Suburban, 250,000 miles and when I sold it, it still ran great!!!

We purchased our 99 Suburban in 2004 with 120000 miles on it. Since then I have changed the pads 4 times, and rotors once. One fuel pump as well.

It currently has just under 210000 miles on it, and has been running great up until recently. A new radiator soon, or perhaps Cash for Clunkers.

Either way it served us well.

1999 Suburban LS 4x4. Noted all the same complaints. ABS--SYSTEM--- No dealer will cover Extended Warranties that are not theirs. Shop Prices are too expensive. The recall to service the problem only covers 2000-2002. Strange the same parts are in the 1999. "SNOW BELT" areas, but if your vehicle was made in Mexico it is not covered. Great Move GM.

So when I do crash I guess it is due to driver error. Simply put, I made copies of all the complaints, recalls and Service Bulletins (even have original Bulletins from NHSTB.

Thanks.

I own a 1999 1500 Chevy Suburban with 4wd. It is on its second engine and has 225,000 miles total on the rig. We are closing in on 2011, and it has had nearly everything replaced except the tranny.

This summer, all the electricals were replaced, including the dashboard and radio lights, as I couldn't see anything after dark.

The interior is in excellent shape, almost brand new, because I have taken such good care of it.

That being said, this rig is extremely expensive to repair and maintain. I feel safe in it, and it has gotten me through some of the worst winters with no problem.

My next rig will be a Ford, because the repair shop is closer, but I have been very satisfied with the 'burb!

I have a Suburban 1999 K1500; bought it used with 80,000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from said the only problem he had with it was he had to replace the front brakes every 10 to 15 thousand miles (he said it was his first Suburban; it would be my second), because you can't put cheap brakes or rotors on a truck that weighs that much. Premium pads and rotors only! You will get better results.

I put 330,000 on my 1995 K1500... What a great dependable truck she was. I did replace the transmission at 220,000. The 1999 has been fine so far.. I have replaced 3 of the four plastic door handles inside. I'm still happy with it... better than the Dodge truck I had for 4 months, and better gas mpg, more cargo, more passenger space.
