1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT review from North America
"I'd absolutely buy it again"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Seats have a few rips at seams, easily fixed with a kit.
Fuel pump went out 2 months after purchase, covered by extended warranty, luckily.
Transfer case plug replaced.
New driveline.
Needs new pitman arm.
Alternator went out recently at 150,000.
Doors need new bushings.
Replaced all 4 interior door handles and interior mechanisms so I could get out of the car (luckily, all broke at different times)
Axle seals leaking.
Rear diff. cover leaking.
Serpentine belt cracking.
Oil pan leaking.
Wipers worked only occasionally, replaced parts, fine now.
Squeaky rear doors.
Engine light is always on, due to egr valve stuck open.
exhaust leak
replaced u joint
General comments?
Good power.
Comfortable ride and interior.
Cup holders are a joke!
Towing is a breeze.
Mpg is not bad for a full sized V8 SUV.
Handles well in snow and ice.
Drivers side air vents are not really enough air at all, can't be aimed just right.
