2001 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 review from North America
"Excellent in every way"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Shifter started coming loose about 100k miles. This was beginning to be an issue because it would not come out of park. I looked up the problem online and got feedback in regards to the problem stating a loose bracket on the shift cable which was located under the dash. I was then able to fix the problem myself which was an easy 10 minutes.
I was expecting the Tahoe to get better gas mileage than the Suburban because it's lighter with a smaller engine, but instead it gets the same mileage.
There is hesitation whenever I floor it. I looked that up online and I got feedback that it may be either a bad coil or the spark plugs are worn.
General comments?
Bottom line We are very happy with the vehicle. We have driven 55k miles in 3 years and it's still going strong just like all Chevy Truck's. Our last Suburban went over 200k miles and never had any problems. We drive these trucks because we live in the White mountian's in northern New Hampshire and it drives excellent on all roads and all conditons of the roads, and even when we tow our 5k pound trailer. The Tahoe is not as big as a Suburban but still has a lot of room and comfort.
