1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 30k miles the alternator went out. We were on vacation and they refused to fix it without leaving it for 2 days, so I fixed it in the parking lot. At 56,000 the transmission went out.
Had to have it rebuilt at $1,700. At 65,000 miles the rear end went out. Something broke and jammed up the gears; cost was $1600. Also replaced:
2 new belts, idler pulley, 3 batteries, all new shocks at 60,000, new brakes including discs and drums, water pump, intake manifold gaskets (leaking coolant), power steering hoses, plus numerous other little things.
General comments?
My Honda and Mazda have not had any problems before 150,000 miles, this has been the worst car I have ever owned.
