The motor needed to be rebuilt.
The exhaust needed to be replaced.
This pickup can handle any load I need to haul. I would rate this pickup as being better than any of the heavy duty pickups built today. This pickup is the standard other pickups are built to.
Wow. A 1947 truck. Old... but cool, nonetheless.
1947!!!??? What planet did you just get off of!!!???
I too enjoy my old Chevrolet. It's a 1947 1.5Ton Loadmaster with a Gallion dump box. Originally the truck had a 216ci in line six with babbitt bearings and was junk by todays standards. It currently has a 1960 235ci engine that runs fine. I will soon be upgrading to 12 Volts and a 250ci engine. These trucks made life easier then and now.
I also have a 1947 Chevy Thriftmaster although mine has a flat bed and is suposed to have a stake bed that's the last thing it needs. I have the 216 that has around 15000 on the rebiuld and only 4000 on the rebuild of the truck
thees things will out last the trucks of today and long after that too.
Its not how fast you get there,,
Its how cool you look gettin there.
Drew.
Wow, it's great to know that people are still driving these old beauties!!!
I may only be 19, but I know that NOTHING is made as good as it was back in the day. Back when they made things to last!!!
So my dad and me bought a 1958 Chevy Apache, and are now driving that around instead of the 2008 Nissan Frontier...
Gotta love the old trucks, that were built to never die!!!
