1991 Chevrolet Tracker review from North America

On the passenger side the quick release on the seat quit working after I tested the "emergency release" so now the seat only flips forward rather than flipping AND sliding forward with one flick of the lever.

Best rig I've ever owned with one exception - that being that there is no place to install an anchorage device to attach a child seat to, I have contacted GM and have been waiting nearly 4 weeks while all the powers that be investigate the matter, but the last I heard it looks grim as Suzuki makes a similar model and they do NOT have the option of installing the safety tether hook for a child seat.

I bought this mini SUV used over 7 months ago and the only problems I've had with it are related to everyday wear and tear e.g. I've had to replace the headlights due to this particular car being towed behind a motor home by it's first owner (highway rocks put dings in the glass so they leaked) but all the alarms still work (seat belt, check engine etc...) there are not leaks in the hard top, the seats are still comfortable and in good shape, minimal rust. 4x4 makes a whirring sound, but still works and I've been told it just needs to be lubricated. Slight oil leak nothing major. GREAT ON GAS!

One annoyance is that the weather stripping on the hard top is situation just so...and when it rains the water drips straight onto the drivers seat when the door is open and occasionally pools in the top of the door... this is NOT a leak, just a matter of the lay out of the stripping. If you wipe it before closing the door it won't drip.

All in all a reliable vehicle and if it weren't that it is incompatible with safety standards for a child seat I wouldn't trade it for anything! I love it - great little summer car and so far has been trusty in the winter when all my neighbours are stuck in their driveways I put mine in 4x4 and away I go.
