2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer L.S. review from North America

"Will we be able to afford to drive it when our extended warranty is up?"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

1) All brake lights stopped working approx.5,000 miles. Dealer replaced the circuit boards for the tail lights.

2) Rear wiper blade did not touch the window. Dealer replaced wiper arm.

3) Experienced a very loud noise from the front end of vehicle when making left hand turns. Dealer claimed it was the hood they re-aligned it and added lubrication.

4) Clutch fan sticks causing a extremely loud noise upon start-up. Dealer did a pcm upgrade, did not solve problem.

5) Tach making grinding sound at initial start up of car. Dealer shipped out instrument cluster to be repaired.

6) Engine tries to run at extreme RPM while towing uphill. Dealer did pcm upgrade, problem got a little better, but not solved.

7) Battery leaking acid out of positive terminal at 2.5 yrs and 37,000 miles. Was rated a 6yr battery. Dealer would not warranty had to pay out of pocket.

8) Volt gauge reading at 9-volts and oil pressure gauge reading either 0 psi or pegged. Will sometimes read right when car turned on/off. Dealer replaced ignition switch (no help), PCM upgrade (no help), waiting now for a re-built instrument cluster for 3weeks. (Dealer claims new cluster not available from Chevy) Hope this will fix the problem.

9) Tail light problem is back! (Now a recall hope to get fixed for good)

General comments?

Nice driving car. Can't wait to get rid of it. The 15 MPG and constant problems are more than we are willing to deal with. If we can get the problems fixed it is gone.
