1983 Chevrolet Truck C-20 review from North America
"Amazingly, it's still running?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Caught fire once, now on it's third engine and fourth transmission, front suspension rebuilt, windows & doors leak, possible sprung frame. (It leans to one side now) Has had occasional mystery wiring troubles since fire as well.
General comments?
Truck has been worked hard all it's life, and it shows? Ex-Street Dept truck from a City. Very plain "Work Truck". Has it's "Temper Tantrums" at times, but it does what I want it to do, though. 350 in stock form not suited for this type truck, though. (3/4 ton) 454 is a better choice if towing or hauling a lot. Is adequate with addition of performance parts, though. (Easy to find for a Chevy) Dual Exhausts are well worth money spent, as was the RV Cam and the carburetor & cylinder head work. Just don't expect over 10 mpg out of it, though?
