1998 Chevrolet Venture review from North America
"Get rid of it after 5 years"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1999 the accelerator cable was shredded because of the alarm that was put in from the dealership we bought the car from. this caused the accelerator to get stuck at about 60mph and almost could not stop the car.
2004 drivers window switch did not work had to replace it.
2004 drivers and passengers windows did not go up and down smoothly.
2007 64k brake line had a hole in it, found this out when car almost didn't stop at top of a hill and 9 months pregnant.
2007 64k check engine lite comes on, car runs to hot in the red and car shuts off on its own. We were told it is blown head gasket.
2007 had to replace water pump 64k.
General comments?
I would not recommend this car to anyone. I almost got killed in it 2 times, and one of those had my newborn in it.
I'm still without a car for two weeks now as my mechanic is still trying to fix it, I have a newborn and no car to even go to doctors appointments. My mechanic says its the Dex-cool antifreeze or global antifreeze that caused this problem. We can't afford a new car, but what are we to do, this one is no longer drivable. I want to know who is going to make good for this problem and pay for the repairs that are needed.
