We bought our 1998 Chevy Venture van in May of 2003. It had no warranty, after 1 week the motor started knocking, the dealer replaced the motor.
The van was sucking up antifreeze, we had to add a gallon every 2 weeks, that motor gave out in April of 2004, we bought a brand new motor, 1900.00.
Now we are having problems with the van jerking forward after about 5 minutes on the road, the transmission is shifting fine, and the motor is working OK now, but the van jerks and loses power.
I will never buy another Venture again. After having all these problems, we researched it and found a lot of complaints. We are looking to trade it in for a different minivan within the month, with still a year on our loan, I can't drive it again, so I am back to driving my good old reliable 1994 Chevy Astro van.
Please please research a vehicle thoroughly before you by one. We have learned the hard way.
The problem with the anti-freeze is because these vans have head gasket problems... it cost me about $550 to fix. after that no more knocking and van still runs fine.
