1962 Chrysler 300 review from North America
"Built like a tank"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to have rear brake shoes and drums replaced.
Had to have left rear leaf spring replaced.
General comments?
This car was built like a tank, it weighed in at 5200 lbs.
The Front bumper alone was massive and heavy.
This was a great road car, steady and sure and handled good in the snow.
The good old 383 V8 2bbl was strong and very reliable and surprisingly good on gas for a car so big and heavy.
The interior was well made and the seats were of the softest leather. Also the roof was lines on the inside with beautifull wicker. The rear view mirror was on the dashboard not the window or roof.
It had a push button auto trans with buttons on the left side of the dashboard that lit up at night.
One of the most unique features of this car was it dashboard, the speedometer and all gauges were enclosed in a dome and when lit at night was amazing.
It also had duct vents on the dashboard you could direct anywhere to keep the windows clean.
It even had a rear window defroster that really worked.
I wish they still made cars like this.
