1988 Chrysler Conquest review from North America

If I do not let the car warm up for at least 5 minutes, it will sputter going above 2500.

Sometimes it chokes out at or above 4000 until it's really warmed up.

Drivers seat worn on the outside, due to getting in and out.

Steering wheel falls down, won't stay in the upper locked position.

Center dash unit light blinks out, but recently has stayed on.

Air unit stopped coming on, and the fan won't turn off.

This has been my dream car every since I saw it on a lot in Ft. Campbell, Ky.

The dealer told me I could not afford it, and if I could he would not sell it to me anyway. When I asked why, he said that I would kill myself because it was so fast, and I was too young.

Well it took me 13 years later, but I bought my first one, a 1987 white with burgundy interior. This thing was fast and complete, everything you wanted in a car from the inside out.

No car till this day to me of its price range has the performance, looks, and flair the Conquest has.

This is my second one, a 1988, and though it has some minor problems, it's the most fun car I have ever driven; power, handling, and unique.

When I have the car in the shop for routine check ups, I always expect a phone call from a rookie mechanic telling me how well this car is built with all its handling features; their response is this is a real race car.

Though this car sticks to the ground like tar in tight curves, you will have to drive it like a baby in the rain, because the car has too much power to keep it straight, I have span out in both cars just doing a little below the posted speed limit.

This is a car worth putting the money into, I take of mine, and she gets me where I need to be, and turns heads all the way there.
