1991 Chrysler Imperial review from North America
"A great car that holds its own!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CV joints replaced 125k miles
Fuel pump out at 150k miles.
General comments?
This car is in my opinion one of Chrysler's best recycled designs. The New Yorker is boring and the Dynasty is plain Jane. The Imperial gets lots of stares and I get loads of offers to sell, but won't happen as my Imp is top drawer in looks and performance. You can't expect the Imp to outrun a newer more modern engined car, but it will hold its own with a car the same year and hp equipped. Turning radius is rather long, but Id rather deal with that than have to replace tires that eat up the sidewalls when you turn around to fast with the tires that lean out on the newer models which can lead to tire fatigue. Good on fuel too!
