It started to rust from the day I got it.
It got 3 new engines put into it, and blew them all.
Didn't need many small new parts.
Interior looks real nice.
I have owned a laser since 1986 (bought it new) I
see that you acquired yours in 1998...a full 13 years after it was built and with 130,000 miles... it is unfortunate that you have had to install three engines... but I doubt it is the issue of a poorly manufactured car... I believe it is more an issue of a car with 130,000 miles on it.
My first question is... the two other engines you put in, were they salvage, or rebuilt?
My second question is what are your driving habits like... do you treat your car gently or do you drive it hard?
I own a 85 laser bought it new love it to pieces any problems I had were minor fuel pump in 2004-water pump-2003
other than that i've had no problems has only 135,000kms and really not much rust husband keeps all that in check and does all the repairs himself I would like to sell it, but i would like about 5000.00 for it, but it's a great car very sporty looking white with the red stripe red interior.
I have a 1985 non-turbo Laser, and I love it. It's a tough little car, and beautiful.
To the person who made this post, did you push the car too hard, or have bad driving habits? It is a shame that you had to put three engines in it, but it is an old car.
I too love this car and it has treated me well. I`m having some mall problems with it, but wouldn`t give it up. I`m atatched to it. You should take better care of it, and maybe it would function well for you. One word to describe it IT ROCKS...
