1988 Chrysler LeBaron Premium review from North America
"Out of all the cars I've had, this is one of my favorites"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car had a blown head gasket, and was in a partial state of disassembly when purchased. I made the neccessary repairs to get the engine running. I then brought all maintainence up to date. A few power increasing mods to the turbo and I had an excellant daily driver. It has NEVER left me stranded!!!
The only parts I've replaced after the initial repairs were a headlamp door motor, thermostat (for performance, not a failure) a drivers door mirror, and a set of 4 tires.
General comments?
This is one of the best deals I have ever gotten on a car. I paid $350 + $50 to have it towed to where I work. Including the tires, I still to this day have less than $1400 invested in this car. It not only runs good, it's a real eye catcher. The bright red paint still looks good except for some white hazing on the trunk lid. The leather interior is perfect and has all the toys (power seat mirrors windows locks, trip computer, tilt, cruise, auto temp control and digital dash) which all work fine. A factory (ca. 1999) cass/CD stereo now rests in the dash. This is my 4th convertible, but the first one that I can enjoy a lot even when I can't put the top down.
