1997 Chrysler LHS review from North America
"A nice car marred by econo-box style issues"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Inner tie rod end failed at 50000.
A/C evaporator failed at 60000.
General comments?
Ride is comfortably firm for a luxury car.
Major niggles with the vehicle's fit and finish:
The door seals have started whistling beyond what I'd consider acceptable levels.
Interior tends to rattle at the slightest imperfection on the asphalt.
Factory CD player has problems running for long periods of time. About 90 minutes worth of playtime before it starts not reading Cd's or skipping inconsistently.
Steering wheel is not centered on drivers seat position. I have the 60/40 split bench in the car, so this may not be an issue with the buckets. This forces the driver to slightly twist their torso to attempt to square up with the wheel. It's OK for a few hours, but is very fatiguing for long touring jaunts of several 600+ mile days.
AC controls are difficult to read during the daytime. The LED array for the temp control readout is fine, but part of the function information are LED indicators on the buttons, which are difficult to discern if they are on or off during the daytime.
