The lapis blue paint has been peeling off in chunks. Chrysler paid 100% last year to paint 1/4 of the car and this year are only willing to split the cost. I have seven spots on my car the size of plates without paint.
The squealing brakes went. It cost $600.00 to get them fixed and the brakes STILL squeal.
The air conditioning broke. I spent $800.00 to fix it.
The gas gauge has been broken since I bought it. It's about a $500.00 job to fix.
The car runs very rough when the (new) air conditioning is running. Bad gas mileage.
My car needs to be painted.
My friends Dad has the same exact Color on his Neon and the paint is peeling terribly on his as well. My friend had a Neon that Color as well, but the engine blew up and he got a 2001 Caviler.
These Chrysler products sound horrible, I have thought about an Intrepid, but after reading all these storys and the expereace this lady Mom works with had I think I'll Steer clear.
Does anyone have any good points about the Neon they seem good value for money I was thinking about a black neon for about £2000. please email marcusvictoria@msn.com.
I bought a 2000 chrysler neon last month and when I fill up the gas tank it the needle won't go to full... my dealer tells me that there is air in the tank and to shake the car when I fill it up... what is this?
I bought a 1996 Neon in Vancouver in 1996 and it is still going strong. It's been in the garage once, besides regular checkups, since I've had it. During that time the head gasket had to be replaced. However, it has been very good on mileage, it's cute, spacious, and I'd do it again.
Hi I'm looking at a new car and the Chrysler Neon, at the moment it is at the top of my list. If anyone has information about the neon, would you please try to contact me on my email: "mmmcuchucka@hotmail.com" This would me most appreciable, thanks. By the way I heard the automatic transmission in the Chrysler Neon is not well designed.
Private citizen I've had two head gasgets fitted ugh! now I have a weird overheating problem, changed defective radiator which helped frankly little I wired the electric cooling fan set to a manual switch via a fuse to the battery to cause extra cooling and Bingo the ecu has stopped cutting out now it runs real cool, also removed the thermostat to aid the cooling now after a LOT of hassle I can finally keep driving... as winter approaches tho the heater takes a while to get to temp, but I'm > Driving, instead of by the roadside.. darned sensors that kill the ecu (engine control unit)
If you knew the gas gauge was broken when you purchased the car could I ask you one question. Why on earth would you buy it knowing that was broken?? Did it not alert you to the fact that perhaps this car was not maintained? I am sorry, but I cannot feel sorry for someone who does not do their homework when it comes to buying a car.
Gesh, who would spend $500 to fix a gas gauge?? Wow, no wonder some people die broke after a lifetime of working huh? Just keep track of the miles on a tablet and fill up before you run too close...
