1979 Chrysler New Yorker 4door pillarless sedan from Finland - Comments

"Great looks and good performance with relatively good fuel economy"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Car was really rusted from the trunk when bought.

Interior was a bit torn

dash lamps did not work

some problems with electrics

electric windows made funny sound

front headlamp turning doors worked from separate switch.

General comments?

Engine was hotrodded, car was really fast, burned rubber easily when stepped on gas pedal.

Ride was OK, a bit jumpy due to "shorter" wheelbase (compared to -78 and older)

I had a 1981 New yorker and I miss it. I still have some parts for it, but I have a 1979 Newport which is a nice ride. The 318's are a good motor.

Hello.

I agree with you. I have 1979 NY in Bucharest, Romania. It's the only one in this country. What spare parts do you have for the 81 NY which still it's a R-body.

If you see this entry please give me a reply on nicolae788@gmail.com.

Thank you and all the best to you!

Alex.
