I've owned 30 Mo-par vehicles and never been towed yet.

We have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The right front motor mount is broken and causes the engine to make a clunking noise upon acceleratin. Our local dealer does not have the part and cannot get the part. He says there are over 2,600 on back order.

Any suggestions for repair?

I purchased a used 2004 Chrysler Pacifica a little over a year and a half ago. I absolutely love this vehicle, but the MPG isn't all that great. We get about 14mpg with daily suburb driving.

Right now it's in the shop. It's started to develop a clicking/light grinding noise out of the left front wheel well that's more prominent when braking and turning, or especially when braking and turning simultaneously.

The dealer said the noise is normal and has something to do with the control arms and is nothing to worry about. I somehow doubt that. They also said the tie rods were so loose that it wouldn't pass VA state inspection like that so they'll be replacing or tightening those.

I know nothing about cars so they could tell me it's a rotator splint problem and I'd believe them (anyone seen Road Trip?).

Anyways, just thought I'd share my experience for whatever it's worth.

I have a 2006 Pacifica that has about 47,000 miles. I recently backed out of my driveway and felt a hopping sensation, and when I am driving down the road I hear a grinding noise in the powertrain. So I took this problem to a local transmission expert and he discovered that my PTU unit was dry and worn. He had called the dealership about a new unit and claimed it was around 2,000 dollars for one plus labor. I have no problem paying a good mechanic for his work, but I do have a problem with a three year old car with less than 50,000 miles and a warranty that only covers 36,000 miles on a powertrain. Chrysler knew about this problem prior to unveiling of these crossovers and I think they should own up to it.
