My horn and cruise control stoped working at 75,000 miles.
Had to replace the top at 103,000 miles.
Considering this car has so many problems and faults, it is a fun car to drive when it is not being fixed.
I have another problem with the brakes. When you are on the highway and you have to apply the brakes quickly, the brake pedal gets stiff and it doesn't want to go down. If you keep the pressure on the pedal, the brakes work, but it throws the steering off a little bit. Only when you slow down to around 25 miles per hour does the brake pedal go down to its normal operating position, and the brakes work fine after that.
Has any one else experienced this problem on their car? Please reply.
At 103,000 miles I would think you may have to replace your top. Also, you have to consider how often you put it up and down. What the weather is like where you live and is it exposed to the elements in the weather or is it garaged? I have a 96 and my top is worn where the elastic straps that hold it in on the sides, but it doesn't have any other problems. If you have a convertible you have to consider these things. My 96 has 92,000 miles and I love it!!! You can't beat the top down on warm summer days and nights. What fun!!!
My friends and family have said it is foolish to buy a1996 model with 86M miles. it is ripe for major serious problems.
Chrysler sebring v6 is good for125-175,000.What experience have any owners had???
Have had a 96 since new; no problem yet. Great car to drive.
