1998 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LX review from North America

I have replaced ball joints and tie rods, left and right, about every 80,000 since I've owned the car.

Brakes, rotors and one time the entire system, about every 75,000.

Tires every 75,000.

Transmission has been OK.

Tune up at 12000 with new spark cables.

Manifold at 130,000; was super expensive. I believe the total bill that time was 4,000 including new rods and joints again.

Distributor system failed at 160,000 for 1300 dollars, however electricals then failed taking several weeks to discover a faulty wire. The dealer was outstanding; replacing computer, all wiring, and after having spent nearly 8000 in two years with oil changes, tires, all the other stuff, they didn't have the heart or courage to tap me again.

Driver's door handle has broken in the last year twice, so I'm on my second brand new unit; 350 each time.

Fog lamps have not worked for more than two weeks. Each time I replace the bulbs since the distributor went. Oh, and since then I also get an electrical shock every time I get out of the car.

Front bumper wrap got ripped apart last year by a protruding manhole cover, and now the passenger side door panel skirt keeps falling off.

I've averaged 3000-5000 per year in maintenance for a car I paid 16500 for.

I do enjoy driving the car, and have put some miles on it; mostly highway. My wife and family love it, so I'll likely keep it. It is fun to drive, and looks pretty sporty - it's a third car at this point; something fun for the girls to drive.

I've kept the body in very good shape, so I'll replace the bumper wrap, but I still need new rims as they are all bent again, or maybe I am for spending so much on this beast.
