1998 Chrysler Town and Country LX review from North America
"Once you learn more about it, you care more about it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
176k on this van.
So far the transmission has been replaced twice. 1st time it broke, my lady got ripped off. They charged 2000 and said it was a rebuild. It came from the junk yard. It shook and rattled like crazy. They put cut up rubber hoses in the mounts.
Well a few months pass by and I tell her to take it back to them, ha! They were closed down. So this one goes out and paid 500 for a rebuilt one, and me and my friend replaced it ourselves, very easy; common sense and some muscles got the job done.
Wow! I never felt the van so smooth since we bought it. Oh yeah, the mount that made it shake so bad was 14 bucks. People these days.
General comments?
I love this van. Not only does it still look great, but I fixed something that cost so much at a reasonable price. Maintenance says it all baby.
