1996 Chrysler Town and Country LXi review from North America
"A comfortable high-maintenance 747"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission went out and is slipping again.
Front passenger axle went bad.
Windshield wipers are possessed.
Fan Belt Pulley went bad and is starting to whistle again.
General comments?
I love my 1996 Town & Country. It has everything anyone could every want in a vehicle.
It’s almost like the engineers thought of everything for a comfortable ride. From the sound system to the way the interior lights turn off if left on…I love it all.
But, I’m looking at my second transmission replacement in 3 years owning the van! I too have the self-initiating wipers, the bad axle (repaired), loud tension pulley (repaired 2X). And I still love this van. It’s like dating a super model with character. She’s everything I've always wanted, but she’s expensive to maintain.
It’s a thin line between love and hate.
