1999 Chrysler Town and Country Limited review from North America
"Luxurious minivan that's worth the price!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A/C needed about $750 worth of work in 2005.
Occasional glitches in the stereo system (steering wheel controls, driver's front speaker).
Brake rotors were replaced by previous owner at 45,000 and again by me at 60,000.
Other than that, I'd say just routine maintenance.
General comments?
Depreciation makes these cars a very good value--sticker was about $35,000 in 1999--I got it for $11,300 in 2003 with 54,000 miles.
The car is roomy, performs well (and gets good mileage) for a minivan, and has lots of nice features--leather, great sound system (despite occasional glitches), automatic headlights, trip computer.
All Chrysler minivans of this vintage suffer from excessive road noise from the rear tires and a rough transmission (the sound it makes when it's shifting will freak you out until you realize that they all sound the same; nothing's wrong with yours). However, they are very practical, reasonably reliable, and well worth the purchase price if bought used.
