1993 Citroen AX 1.1 First review from Norway
"Fantastic simple trustworthy car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Only one thing, the alternator, and that is a normal wear and tear part for any car. Got a nother from the scrappy and swapped it in under one hour. £40
General comments?
I was in need of a car and I thought of the AX. At first I was a bit sceptic as it isn't a "cool" car, it appeared a bit "plasticy" and low on quality, but I decided to take a closer look, and I ended up buying it. I have not regretted it.
The engine was surprisingly quick and it is a really fun car to drive. Small enough to fit every parking space, sneak through queues and sideways to pass the toll line for driving in the city centre. The size combined with excellent aerodynamics makes it also a very economical car, using between 5 and 7 litres on 100 kilometres. The plastic details is just the same as in all other regular cars in its class and model of year, and it is also surprisingly comfy with good Citroen seats. Again, it also feels surprisingly spacious to ride in, at least in the front seats.
The only downside is that if you were to crash you would most probably die as this car is so small..
I love it, bought this car for 350£, has never turned me down.
