1989 Citroen AX GT review from UK and Ireland
"Road going rally car, come on Novas!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric windows.
Brake failure (twice!!)
CV joints and driveshaft.
Wheel bearings.
Engine and gearbox stuck together.
HT coil.
Rust on lights/connectors making them short out.
Engine blew up on the motorway.
Numerous head gaskets failing!!!
General comments?
I gave it to my rally loving girlfriend because I didn't want to sell it!! I purchased a Clio mk2 16v, although my Clio is faster there is not much in it. At weekends my girlfriend still lets me drive it although she now hates to see somebody else drive the beast.
It is standard except for a K&N airfilter and uprated valves in the carb.
It goes like stink, I love it and I want it back!!
