The most common thing to go wrong with my AX has to be the constant velocity boot (CVBoot) which causes a terrible knocking sound when you turn a corner. that is about every 1000 miles now.
Seats have started to become lose in their fixings to the floor.
This car is still very reliable and it won't let you down. The car is very easy to park, and all around visibility is very good.
Although my AX is a 1.0 liter she is still very fast, but they cannot hold their speed or go any faster at around 80mph because of the limited 4 gears.
I am very impressed with the Citroen AX and I would not say no to having another. The AX is not a bad looking car at all. very tidy and tough looking.
I am very proud of my citroen AX (sunfire) 1.0 liter. It just is a very smart looking car. It has taught me how to drive, especially in too bad snow and icy conditions. I don't know where I would be with out my AX, she is one of a kind. No matter what people say she is my baby.
I would recomend a Citroen AX to every body, but be Prepared to spend time and money on an older AX. But you can pickup jems.
AX`s for ever...Lump.
Just a few little problems with my little 933 cc Citroen ax.
The boot catch does not work properly poor at locking
rear washer don't work when first bought
interior lights don't work faulty bulbs
both driver and pasenger seats do not lock into place that well.
BUT... I've had the car up to 95mph today, but it is a real bone rattler at that speed. all this from a 933 cc car I didn't think it was possible.
