Leak from under the dashboard of water, heater matrix cracked.
Exhaust baffles rattly.
This my third AX, first 2 are reviewed on here. My first was a GT-5 then a GT and now a GTi.
First thing I noticed is the GTi is much much better built than the GT model. No problems with carbs going out of tune either plus more horse power. The dash has been refined and looks very sporty and curvy now.
Sound deadening much improved and still with that performance we all comment on.
My only tiff with this car is that the power is not as instant as the GT. Due to the GT having twin choke carbs you get a real kick as you hammer it to the floor where as the GTi takes a little time through the revs, but when the 100bhp comes in it takes off!
Sporty looks with the standard bodykit and a great standard roar from the engine at full throttle.
I've customised my engine now slightly by adding a Green air induction kit and a Peco Powermaster twin rear backbox. This has added slightly more performance and a lot more roar.
Must recommend these cars as they are great fun and you would not beleive what you can beat off the mark in these things.
Handling could be improved by lowering springs, but standard the GTi still corners well with little understeer.
Looking for a Suzuki Swift GTi now I want to see how well they compare and I think Jap is now looking the way to go.
Go out buy 1, drive it soft then give it some I guarantee you will be impressed!
I liked your comment on the ax I was wondering if you could help. Icant deciede to buy one or not my mate offered me an ax gt for cheap could you give me some tips on what to look for cheers
