1988 Citroen AX GT review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap but flimsy pocket rocket!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ignition lock cracked (had to buy whole new set of locks).
Replaced driveshafts.
Needs head gasket to be skimmed (oil leaking into cooling system).
New clutch.
New spark plugs, oil and air filter.
Dodgy electrics everywhere (lights etc.)
New back box for exhaust.
General comments?
This car is a right laugh. Light and quick, but I wouldn't want to have a prang in it! When working on the car always have some airfix glue handy!!!
Suspension is too high, but with lowered springs and adjustable shocks I reckon the handling would be good.
Rattles and squeaks all over the place, but once the carb is fully open you can't help but smile!
