1991 Citroen BX TZD Turbo review from Australia and New Zealand
"A very underrated car and a bargain buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with the car yet, but I have only had it a few weeks.
The only work that I have had done is a new cam belt and tensioner at 100,000 k's as these were original and at the same time a new water pump was fitted as the mechanics said that the labour charge was very little more to do this at the same time as the timing belt.
The above work was quite expensive I thought - total cost of parts was about NZ$600 and it was 5 hours labour at franchise dealer rates.
The dealer I bought the car from (not the Citroen dealer) had had new suspension spheres fitted and new hydraulic fluid. (Green Citroen blood!)
General comments?
I am so impressed with this car. It rides and drives superbly for what it cost. These were relatively expensive cars new in New Zealand, but now are very cheap.
The one that I have bought is a very original one owner example that is immaculate.
The engine performance, ride and handling are better than many cars I have driven that are worth 5 times the price I paid for this Citroen.
