1989 Citroen BX RD review from UK and Ireland
"Very good car, but with a poor image"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Hydraulic pipes corroded.
Head gasket changed at 135K (overheated due to silted-up radiator).
Rear arm bearings replaced.
Noisy gearbox (maybe clutch release bearing?) when idling.
Very reliable as long as routine maintenance isn't neglected.
General comments?
Surprising quick for a 'non-turbo' diesel.
Not as difficult to work on as some people think.
Out-handles many newer cars - if you can stand the body-roll!
